Georgia’s Pergola II

We were asked to paint an image from an unusual perspective, in the spirit of how Georgia O’Keeffe would explore objects from different perspectives. I chose this image of a pergola that I designed almost two decades ago and was photographed at the time by my Sr. Associate and long time friend David Rizzolo. I had developed this first painting for about seven evenings but lost it due to severe smudges on the upper trellis against the sky. Aggravated I put is aside and started again with the Georgia’s Pergola - Second Attempt!

Thanks to Bristol Art Museum and juror Nancy Gaucher-Thomas for choosing my watercolor to be part of the latest Members’ Juried Biennial Exhibition “Visions”. November 3 – Friday, November 29, 2024
